| Sugar Bowl Michigan V Virginia Tech Preview |
|
Over the weekend the NCAA released its college football betting bowl game schedule for the current season. To say the decisions of college’s main sports board was met with mixed reaction, would be putting it mildly. The National Title Game took some serious heat from bookie software developers, as the best teams are not necessarily facing off. One bowl game that was met with a positive response was the Sugar Bowl, which will feature two of the most storied programs in the nation, Michigan Wolverines and Virginia Tech Hokies. Originally, this game was believed to be a battle between the Michigan Wolverines and the Houston Cougars. However, the Cougars blew their shot at a BCS Bowl Game, with a disappointing collapse against rivals Southern Mississippi. In their place steps the Virginia Tech Hokies, who at 11 and two could pose an intriguing problem for the Wolverines. Here is a preview of the game. The Virginia Tech Hokies and Michigan Wolverines run similar offenses, in that both are based around their quarterback’s foot speed rather then throwing abilities. Logan Thomas is one of the quickest quarterbacks to ever grace Virginia Tech, but is a distant third to Michael Vick and the man he replaced Tyrod Taylor. For that reason, Michigan will most likely plan its defensive attack of tailback David Wilson. Wilson has NFL potential, as he’s averaged 125 yards per game this season. On the other hand, the Michigan Wolverines are coming into the game riding their best season in the last four years. First year coach Brady Hoke has got the most out of his offense, and resurgent defense this season. The duo of Denard Robinson and Fitz Toussaint has scared opposing defenses all season long. As long as both players remain healthy, the Wolverines should win this game. |
