Cotton Bowl Preview

On Friday January 7, 2011 the LSU Tigers take on the Texas A&M Aggies in anNCAA football betting classic, the Cotton Bowl. As many college football betting enthusiasts know, the Aggies have been the primary Big 12 team to part take in the Cotton Bowl over the last 20 years. On the other hand, the Cotton Bowl despite not being in the BCS Bowl series took only a few hours to sell out for Tigers fans. Here is a preview of the game.

Going into the Cotton Bowl and both the LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies are teams proving their worth. For instance, in the early weeks of the regular season, the Aggies were three and three and were a fragile team. As a result, Aggies Head Coach Mike Sherman, who would later go on to win the media's choice Head Coach of the Year award, made the decision to switch quarterbacks from Jerrod Johnson to back up Ryan Tannehill. The move proved to be the correct one, as the Aggies then went on to win their next six games, finishing the season with a nine and three record.

Conversely, Les Miles LSU Tigers were a team that just barely missed out on a BCS Bowl game offer. The Tigers went 10 and two during the course of the regular season, and if it weren't for playing in the same conference as Auburn, they may have qualified for a BCS Bowl game.

However, both of these teams know that taking the other lightly would be a huge mistake. For example, during the Aggies six game winning streak to close out the season, they were able to knock off eventual Big 12 Champion Oklahoma in a game where the Sooners underestimated their Aggie rivals. Look for this game to be a high scoring affair, as both schools ranked amongst the elite in the NCAA this season.
