Your NHL blog may focus on their draft, but there is no draft in sports like the three-day affair that is the NFL draft, which has become a massive event in its own right. But even though most tune out after the first night, which holds the first round, the action really starts in the second round on the second day and here is what teams may be looking for.
The first round is when you’ll likely find players who have made a name for themselves in the college game, and these are usually the players that had a major impact on their teams at legal online sports betting sites. These are usually skill players like quarterbacks and receivers, although offensive line has jumped into the mix of most important positions as well. In the second round, you’ll start drafting to fill holes, so a team that may be lacking at the linebacker position will probably start to hunt and find the players that can either push their starters, or become one themselves.
The second round is also when you’ll start to find the players who have fallen for “character” reasons as some may have gotten in a little trouble in college and it can be overblown. A lot of us made mistakes in college, some of which we continue to pay for, and that can cause a star to drop here, although they can use that as motivation for revenge on the rest of the league. These players will earn a look as teams hope to boost their chances of winning your sports bet. |

NFL Betting – How Do Teams Decide On Their Draft Picks? |
|

NHL general managers have the same decisions to make as NBA and NFL GMs when it comes to the draft: who do we pick? There are basically two schools of thought when it comes to making these picks and here is how NFL GMs will go about selecting the next potential star when they head to New York City later this month.
You can break it down into “who do we need” and “who do we want”, in terms of making NFL picks. The first option is the road most travelled and this will be the question that most players at betting sites will ask the same. Teams should always look out for what holes they want to fill through the draft and pick accordingly, although there are some positions where teams may be a bit skeptical of taking a player to step right into the team. But, for example, Indianapolis parted ways with Peyton Manning and now they need a quarterback, so you can bet what position they’ll draft for.
Then you get into the second option and that is basically taking the most talented player left on the board at that time and figuring out a way to get him into the team. This happens a lot in the later rounds of the draft when you’re filling roster spots, and some teams will also look at players they can switch to a different position in an effort to improve their odds at places like Bodog. |

NFL Betting – Do College Coaches Have A Voice In The Draft? |

NHL scores are starting to get a ton of attention in the world of sports news right now, but the NFL draft takes place at the end of the month and the best in college football will be up for grabs. But do their coaches have a say in what happens?
Those who are betting on baseball are probably asking the same about players in their draft, and the answer is probably similar to football. Coaches are definitely a major factor in where a kid will get drafted because teams can only get some much information from scouts watching the players live, on tape and at the combine. They have to speak to someone and chances are, they’re going to go to people that are close to the player. The closest would be the coach, or at least the assistant coaches as these men have had contact with the player since they were in high school, sometimes as long as 5-7 years. No one knows the kid better on and off the field than the coaches of a team, and NFL teams are all about doing their due diligence, especially in this big-money era of rookies (although they don’ t get as much as they used to, as per the new CBA).
Football is a business and players are looked at as investments by teams, and they have to get as much information as they can. The more information they receive, they’ll have a better chance of picking a player that improves their sport betting online odds. |

College Football Betting – Give The Coaches A Good Look On The Gridiron |

Those that watch March Madness scores will tell you how important coaching is in the NCAA, and you could definitely make the argument that it’s more important than in the professional leagues, where players are held to a certain standard. It’s the same on the football field, and maybe even more than in hoops.
Remember, in the college ranks these men are coaching young men, and a lot of them are still boys when they come to campus. March Madness betting players will say all the time, how big of a difference you see in a kid from the time they step onto a court to the time they graduate or leave for the pros, and it’s even bigger in football because it is such a physical sport. Ask a coach like Nick Saban, who left the coach ranks for the NFL before bolting back for college (where he has won two championships) or Arkansas’ Bobby Petrino, who did the same. Pete Carroll failed in his first attempt in the NFL, but he is trying again in Seattle after steering the USC dynasty.
There is simply a different dynamic to college coaching in that it is probably easier to teach something to a player at that level than in pros. However, good NFL teams have players that love to be a coach; there is a reason while Bill Belichick’s Patriots are always a favorite in Super Bowl odds. The best teachers are usually the ones that also near the top of the list in your best online sportsbook. |

NFL Betting – Who Will Be The First Five Picks In The Draft? |

Even if you read an NBA blog, you’ll hear plenty about the NFL draft which occurs at the end of April in New York, and the top five seems to be pretty settled, even a move to trade picks. Here is how it should go down.
1. Indianapolis – Andrew Luck, QB
Even if he didn’t win the Heisman, Luck is still a lock to go to the Colts; he would be Kentucky if he were a 2012 March Madness betting option (the No.1 overall seed). However, the Peyton Manning situations continues to hover over the team.
2. St. Louis – Robert Griffin III, QB
The Rams have said they would trade the pick, but they could even just pick RGIII and trade him for what they need, which is a receiver….more on that in a minute.
3. Minnesota – Matt Kalil, OL
The Vikings need help up front in the worst way, and that comes in the form of Kalil, who is the best offensive line in the draft by a longshot. If Christian Ponder is their guy, he needs to be protected, especially in the NFC North.
4. Cleveland – Justin Blackmon, WR
This is who we think the Rams will do business with; Cleveland needs a pivot as the Colt McCoy experiment seems to be over, and the Rams need a receiver. Blackmon is the best one available.
5. Tampa Bay – Mo Claiborne, CB
The Buccaneers just signed former LSU secondary coach Ron Cooper, who is close with Claiborne, the most NFL-ready of an incredible Tiger secondary. This should be the pick for the Bucs, who was a massive disaster among online betting players last season.
